BE NOT NOBODY

I never knew that Fleetwood Mac co-lead singer Stevie Nicks was an ordained clergywoman.  Well, she functioned as a clergywoman when she officiated the wedding between rock star Vanessa Carlton and Deer Tick lead singer and guitar player John McCauley.  And they married on the beach.  There is nothing more romantic than a wedding by the beach.

Vanessa Lee Carlton was born in Milford, Pennsylvania on August 16, 1980.  Born to an airplane pilot named Ed Carlton and a piano player performer and music teacher named Heidi Carlton, she was the oldest of three children.  Her mother, Heidi Carlton, taught her to play the piano when she played the song It's a Small World After All after a vacation to Disney World at the age of two.  An interest in ballet at the age of nine lead to ballet school at the American School of Ballet in New York City at the age of fourteen.  Graduation from ballet school didn't lead to any jobs with any dancing companies so she became a rock star and performed in night clubs.
Vanessa Carlton was signed to A&M Records in 2001.  Her first album Rinse was never released.  Most of the songs from the Rinse album ended up in her second album Be Not Nobody.  It was her second album (And her first album to be released in stores) became a huge hit and made her a huge star in the independent music scene.  Harmonium was released in 2004.  Heroes and Thieves was released in 2007.  Her latest album Rabbits on the Run was released in 2011.  Vanessa Carlton continues to record songs and tour to support her music to this exact moment.
